Lofts can be a great choice for first time home buyers in Denver. Most of the historic lofts in Denver are located in LoDo, just north of Larimer Square, near Coors Field.

But other historic lofts are sprinkled throughout the Denver metro area, including lofts in former churches, warehouses, schools, and retail stores.

The Acme Lofts (near the Pepsi Center), Ice House Lofts (near Union Station), and the Denver Dry Lofts and Neusteters  Lofts (both on the 16^th Street Mall in downtown Denver) are among  the most well-known, historic lofts in the Denver metro area.

Some of the distinguishing features of these, and other, historic lofts in Denver include:

• exposed brick walls
• exposed duct work in the ceilings
• large windows

Most historic lofts, however, don’t include covered parking or central air conditioning.

• homeowners association (HOA) monthly fees
• how open the loft is and how much sound muffling there is between rooms
• balcony or deck
• parking (garage, parking spaces, and/or on-street parking availability)
• pets (does the HOA allow cats, dogs, or both)
• neighborhood
• amenities in the building
• security
• walkability
• access to light rail and other public transportation
